What’s in a typical Sunday at St. Bede’s?
A contemplative Holy Eucharist service with the Victorian English typical of the first Book of Common Prayer (using language like “thee” and “thou”), observed without music or choir.
Following the 8:00 a.m. service, we gather in our parish hall across the Courtyard for fellowship over coffee and light refreshments.
SoulWork is our name for adult education at St. Bede’s, which is a chance for us to learn and discuss about our faith, the Scriptures, theology, religious history, and current events. This discussion is typically led by our Rector and members of our parish.
Our Godly Play class begins at 10:00 to allow extra time for our children to engage with the lesson for the day, which we value as an important part of their formation and education. This class meets in Wyatt Hall, and one of our dedicated volunteers will be able to assist you at the door when you arrive.
This Holy Eucharist service uses the contemporary language and theology from the Rite II service of the Book of Common Prayer, and includes hymns and anthems sung by our choir and accompanied by organ and piano.
Nursery care is available during this service, and the children’s Godly Play and Sunday school classes will rejoin the 10:15 a.m. service for Communion. More information is available by following the links for these offerings.
Following the 10:15 a.m. service we have a second coffee hour, also in our parish hall across the Courtyard from the church building.
