Celebrate our vibrant Bede’s community! The choir will return to enhance the 10:15 service with their voices. Afterwards, we will have a special brunch in Lehman Hall. As part of our Kickoff celebration, we’ll highlight our ministries like community outreach, altar guild, hospitality, and the music program.

Here at St. Bede’s, Fall Kickoff signals the start of our program year and offers you a preview of upcoming events and activities. Come learn how to get more involved in our Bede’s community.
It’s also the perfect time to introduce a family member, friend or neighbor to St. Bede’s.
Join us on Sunday, September 13 following the 10:15 a.m. service. for a tasty lunch, including our famous home-baked dessert bar!
In addition to our BIG Book Giveaway, there will be face painting and crafts for the kids, and information about upcoming outreach projects including our Socktober drive for new socks and our next dinner for LifeMoves. We’ve always been a warm and welcoming community and you likely know someone who’d find purpose and fellowship here. Mark your calendar for September 13 and invite someone to join us that day!

invited to join us for a Montessori based program of story, music, and art in our Godly Play classroom. We also have a well-equipped nursery room for younger children, which, while being unstaffed, is an available room for parents to bring younger children when desired.
After the service on September 13, we will have face-painting, glitter tattoos, and balloons. It’s a perfect Sunday to invite friends to share in the fun, and for the adults to enjoy a tasty lunch and community time together!

The shortening of daylight marks the start of school (AUG 20) with 147 elementary school children, teachers and staff raring to go…
When children are engaged and challenged, their natural curiosity grows. At Trinity, students explore, problem-solve and develop confidence through a supportive community. School year health protocols, child safety laws and strict visitor policies are now in place and daytime visitors should report directly to the parish office. Upcoming events include the family BBQ, picture day, back-to-school night, parent-teacher conferences and evening cleanings for the next school day. As a friendly reminder, please be aware that after-school programs go on between 3-6 pm weekdays.
In 1st grade, our students begin a cognitive shift to more logical thinking. They dive into foundational literacy skills (phonics, reading strategies, writing) and math concepts (counting, visualization, manipulatives) with increasing structure and learning strategies (planning, self-monitoring, reflection). As first graders grow quickly physically, socially, and intellectually, staff adapt their instructions accordingly. Students steadily move towards more independent thinking, while still feeling emotionally safe as they stretch.

It’s Bunco Time!Offered as an event at the Seccombe Fundraiser last May, there are still a few spaces available if you want to join a rollicking good time playing Bunco on October 3rd from 4-6pm, hosted by Doug Ross and Liz Bellock at the Sartor’s house. No skill needed, just a little luck!
Bunco originated in 19th-century England, where it was a confidence game known as “eight dice cloth.” It arrived in San Francisco in 1855 as a fashionable gambling game in “bunco parlors.” Over the years, it continued to be enjoyed and has become a more acceptable friendly game of dice.
Come play a few rounds, enjoy some light refreshments and get home in time for dinner. Again: no skill or experience necessary, just a little luck! You are sure to have a blast!

Vic has been the music director at St. Bede’s Episcopal Church since 2022. In his time, he has continued the longstanding musical tradition of prestigious music while bringing the ideals of contemporary choral music to the church’s congregants. While bringing thought-provoking and worship enriching repertoire to Sunday services, he has also collaborated with many musicians both within St. Bede’s and the surrounding community for several special services, including bringing Christmas Eve Lessons and Carols to Menlo Park as well as many Evensong Services.
Outside of St. Bede’s, Vic is the Head of Music and Director of Vocal Studies at Ohlone College where he directs the Choral Ensembles, instructs voice lessons, and teaches courses in musicology. He earned a Doctorate of Musical Arts from Northwestern University (where he acquired an intense love of both contemporary choral music and deep-dish pizza) and a Master of Arts from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, both in Choral Conducting. He is originally from Orange County, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Choral Music Education from California State University, Fullerton.
Beyond music, Vic has a deep love for Olympic style wrestling, which he both enjoys as a fan and trains and competes for regularly. The remainder of his free time goes to his lovely mini aussiedoodle – Buffy.
We engage in serving the needs of the unhoused, the food insecure, and those in need of educational assistance in the Peninsula as we proclaim the Gospel and promote justice, peace, and love for all people.
We strive to understand the workings of Jesus and enrich our lives with continuous learning. We strive to teach those around us about the good works that Jesus performed, and strive to input His teachings into our own lives.
We join with one another to support one another in all things, celebrating the high points of life, mourning together the low points, and following the example given to us by Christ during his life among us.
We gather together to set forth God's praise, to hear God's holy Word, and to pray for those things that are necessary for our life and our salvation, believing that the way of Jesus is the best possible way to live.

St. Bede’s has been home to Jane for a startlingly long time. She taught music in Trinity School and was the Music Director at St. Bede’s for many years. She was then ordained, and served as the Vicar of Holy Innocents in San Francisco. In her retirement, she has returned to St. Bede’s where her family also attends. Her delight is working with the Children’s Ministry, but she can occasionally be spotted being useful in other ways.
